நவம்பர் 14 - உலக சர்க்கரை நோய் தினம்

To avoid sugar high and sugar lows , diabetics should ...

1. Eat several (5-6) small meals in a day rather than three large meals

2. Do not go more than three or four hours without eating

3. Do not skip meals. Eat at rougly the same time each day.

4. Watch your portion size

5. Avoid any kind of diating or diets

6. Eat fewer foods high in sugar like fruit juice , fruit flavoured drinks , sodas, and tea / coffee with sugars

7. Use less salt in cooking and at the table

8. Eat fewer foods that are high in salt like canned and packaged soups, pickles and processed meats.

9. Drink minimum eight glasses of water each day to avoid dehydration which is particularly dangerous in people with diabetes

10. Limit use of caffine through tea / coffee / diet colas and also alcohol.
